100 Day Challenge

A Deal A Week

The Deal a Week model of production is ideal for real estate agents who want to build up and maintain an ongoing, consistently high level of success in sales. Simple and straight forward, it can be learned and implemented by virtually anyone who fully opens up to the concept and who is willing to do the necessary work. Remember, however, that the Deal a Week is not about working harder, but about working hard in the time available. Each workday of each workweek you must ask yourself the following three questions:

Am I doing a deal today?

If not, why not?

And...

“What can I do about it, today?

Unfortunately, the reality is that most real estate agents practice the “deal now and then” method of sales production—meaning they simply make things up as they go along while they lurch inconsistently from one transaction to another. Even though there is a great deal of interest and much talk in the real estate brokerage business about how to increase agent sales production, the de facto, industry-wide status quo is that individual real estate agents are left to fend for themselves when it comes to their own personal level of professional success.

That is precisely why the Deal a Week standard is so vital—it brings a dependable and effective structure to your own practice of production. When you strive to make your career just this week you experience a heightened level of urgency and, thus, focus in your daily affairs. As a result, the activities you do each day start to adjust in ways that are specifically production oriented. Only then will you do deals on a regular and predictable basis. Although it was possible to prosper in the previous, positive real estate market just by showing up, in today's negative real estate environment the Deal a Week approach to production is what ensures success in sales.

The Deal a Week method works. The only question is will you...?

I really enjoyed your seminar today. Thank you. It was very inspirational and got me really thinking. But, I think I am still troubled by clarity of what I want. I need to spend some time on this one. By the way, how can I get a copy of notes on your seminar (sheets you were referencing). I really would love to review them over again and again and again.

Right. The 7 Day Lead standard is a rolling standard. It restarts everyday, relative to your current leads. And, if a lead is not a true threat to sign a contract in 7 days, don't work with them... Yet. Stay in touch with them, but don't work with them. Only work (spend your time) with people who are not going to do business in the very near term---within 7 days...

So I made my deal for the week yesterday and immediately thought about where is my next deal coming from? Every 7 days starts today, doesn't it?

The biggest shift for me has been the idea between I AM and I will. I am working in the I AM and although I would very much like to see the results I now understand that that is going to take time but working in the I AM mode will ensure those results follow. So I am not spending time thinking "I have no sales" (well in all honesty it occurs to me at least once a day! but I now dismiss the thought as it doesn't support my goal) What I mean by I AM, is that I am working this method, I am prospecting, I am looking at my prospects and looking at how to move forward, I am working on getting to the truth and doing this in a more efficient manner, I am (as of 2 days ago) working from a schedule etc. I am trusting that this will work and therefore not sabotaging my efforts by buying into the idea that I am not sucessfull as I am not getting the results I want now which would lead to giving up.

It's just getting your mind to think you can, each day. I guess you have to put it out there, believe it can and will happen.

FREDIAN THEORY....

Commitment is measured by action.

Who will do what.... when?

Are you talking to people in terms of benefit (opportunity)?

Enlightenment is being free of self-limitation.

"I like to find out what people think."

You don't vend a propportunity™ to sell that specific property, although that is a possibility. You vend opportunity to find out what people will do.

Every day you need to watch from falling into the trap of thinking, "Tomorrow things will work out."

Measure your success by what you do today.

One definition of success is... taking appropriate action.

The goal is to find out what you don't know vs. judging what you think you know. This is what it means to be "open".

Things don't get done because they don't get done today.

Great is being great today.

Your career, your year, won't come together until you break it down into the unit of today.

What are you pushing away, distraction or deals?

The practice of being in the hunt leads to production on a regular basis.

Begin each day "on purpose". Clear, connected, open, and READI.

Your decisions define who you are.
