A Deal A Week
In the Blink of an Eye
Anything can happen...and always does...in the Blink of an Eye. For me, after posting my most excellent revelation recently I became highly motivated. I'd found my mojo that I'd lost it back in March after realizing only 4 closings after having opened 14 since November. So watching Wimbledon was my wake up call...at Wimbledon, you either perform to advance or you are dismissed. Well I want to advance, "I told myself". So Monday morning I was back at my desk, doing my expired listing thing...finding 10 a day, preparing my most excellent pre-listing cma report, and then going out and door knocking'em.
On Thursday, my dear sweet 96 gray-haired Mother who ain't what she used to be, had a eye appointment @ 9am, cross town. So when @ 10:30 I was gett'en her back into the car and ready to pull off, the car wouldn't start...and it wouldn't start... so my mind went real south in all of about 10 seconds...in those 10 seconds came every worst case scenario...getting the car to a mechanic, renting a car, what was wrong and the cost of the repair...breaking appointments...not having a car for and how long that would be and on and on...I didn't get my Mother home till close to 3pm, got a rental which insurance doesn't cover..
So now I'm down and without a car....and a Realtor without a car is like a hotdog without mustard...it's awful...my world is upside down...I'm upside down...and that’s not even the worst part…I don't have the funds to cover the cost to repair!!! Add to all that a juicy resentment for Mercedes for taking advantage of me and overcharging me. So now I'm really up a creek.
Now this attitude stayed with me all of Thursday into Friday. Thursday night I did some fight'en back. I had an extended 3 hour meditation that evening before bed and again 1st thing in the morning. It was in this experience much was resolved. Mostly was it in my mind that I'm not gonna be dismissed... it's not over and at Wimbledon they have a new roof...so now there are no more rain delays, so I couldn't just sit by and do nothing...I can still play. So I took the bus to the office Friday...(that wasn't so bad)... just to be defiant to the desire to be lazy and made the best of it prospecting on the phone...wish i could say something happened, it didn't.
What has happened is the distance to my Championship Point has changed, it has been lengthened. I have it before me to do what I would otherwise be doing with my car, only without it...so what, the pickle squirted some juice in my eye and it stings...I'll do what i can and this delay will come to pass....
I had the 2nd set on my racket with a one set lead...now life got the best of me and took the 2nd set...it's one set all of a five set match...seven matches to win Championship Point...but what my opponent, Life, doesn't know is I'm fit and I have the ability, desire and intention to measure a new stride thru this unfortunate circumstance. I’ll get the car when my Canadian buyer closes his deal the 24th of this month. In the mean time I’ll slow down and knock on some doors in the “neighborhood”, something I haven’t done when I had a car….just drove right on buy cause I gotta get to the office see…

Hope you don't mind me calling you Racy...but I also hope this finds you being and doing well today. I appreciate your encouragement and for the reminder of what has been done in recent years does promise I'll prevail...provided I don't quit...reminds me of something Steve said years ago...he said, "...cause there's gonna be times when you'll find you're not performing as you'd like...that's just the way it is...personal issues, sinking into a funk, a Doctor's appointment, vacations...just don't try to make up for what's not done...just move forward when you can" And that's so true, this isn't the first time Life has come outta nowhere and tackeled me hard ...anyway, I'm gonna go door knock'en today down three streets...and look for someone who's life may be changing and needs to move.
