Boot Camp.

I have been in this business for 18 years and have been moderately successful. Three years ago, however, experiencing a down turn in my business and being unsure of what to do about it I came to you for help and you began to coach me. I am an ardent admirer of, and have been greatly stimulated by the 100 day challenge program; I have taken great pleasure and pride in being a part of EIA and gained immense insight into myself and my limitations; all of which is very important stuff, but this last week the ‘Boot Camp’ just blew me away. It may have been the sum total of everything I have been doing for the last year, I don’t know, but you have dangled in front of me the keys to the Genie in the bottle. You have woken the monster within! You have shown me that by scripting, and perfecting what we say rather than just winging it, or relying on our near perfect personalities to pull through, we can acquire an aura and power that is unstoppable, and by continually exercising this skill we can come to truly own the expression of what we believe in and by so doing, we elevate ourselves to, dare I say this, super human levels.

Bootcamp provided exactly what I was looking for as the next step in my real estate practice, namely working intensively through essential scripts and dialogues for prospecting, working with buyers and sellers and “fighting for” commissions. The group was completely committed—everyone came on time and was prepared to work; we had our sights set on the goal, were attentive to the process and willing to take the risks necessary to improve. The morning time was intense, but always interesting and helpful in seeing how each of the other professionals addressed the same questions. The evening telephone sessions were a great reinforcement of the morning dialogues and the afternoon practice. It was great to have the “forced” discipline of the program to propel me forward. It was intimidating at times, humbling at others but at the end of it all I feel I improved my skills and gained more self-confidence. This was money extremely well spent!

I got humbled in my last “Boot Camp”. I practice scripts as much as I can. All of my listings are 6% listing (unless I give a friendship discount). I thought I had my commission script nailed. I always ask and I simply always get 6%. In Boot Camp, I learned I have great room to improve. I was practicing with Bred. He did not give me 6% just because I have asked. Beads of sweat trickle down my forward. My shirt was socking wet. It was frightening. Every year my business has done better than the previous year. This year is shaping to be my best year ever. But I have found in Boo t Camp that I have great room to improve. I have signed for all three booth camps to come. I want to know I have done my best. It is not an option to go home after a listing appointment and know I did not gave all that I have. I am going to prepare my field for rain. If it will rain great – I did my best to be ready, and I will take home a new listing. If it will not rain, I still can live with myself since I did my best. That is what Booth camp has revealed to me!

Hi Steve,
Boot Camp was fun, informative and enlightening. What really stood out for me is the need to really be present with our clients to hear what they are actually saying rather than going in and wanting to convince them of something or make them understand our own agenda. The dialogues need to be second nature in order to pull them out of your hat when you have heard what they are talking about. We may be tired or going through a multitude of other emotions when we are in front of our clients. The beauty of mastering the dialogues is that they give you the means to address issues on the spot. The effective use of them is to get to the truth not manipulate a situation.
This may not sound new to anyone yet it has become my awareness rather than just words I hear Steve say.
I will go again and highly recommend anyone putting their time in this direction. You will make a gain wherever you are in your level of expertise in real estate.

Hi Steve,
I just wanted to let you know how awesome, and how necessary your Boot Camp was to my business. I'm a great "listener" of dialogues and I always think it will come out perfect in my listing presentations. I now realize that the key is actually verbalizing and role playing and being "on the spot" in front of everybody. It's scary sitting with a group of fellow REALTORS and doing these dialogues out loud. But the end result was that I am now better at it and I realize that this HAS TO be done out load in actual role play. Maybe the course title should be changed to "SAMURAI REALTOR SCHOOL" because after the week was up, I definitely felt on top of my game. Thank you for setting this up. Just from the 6% dialogue role play, I know I will be putting so much more money in my pocket that I would have just given away.

In one week, the intensity of repeated practice of listening skills and dialogue were FRESHLY implemented in real life scenarios. In addition the immediate feedback was instrumental.
It helped me overcome the fear to speak with ANYBODY. In that one week, I approached strangers such as employees at stores, friends and family, acquaintances and felt fine bringing up the subject of real estate, without the stigma of being too pushy. I made more contacts and had deeper conversations about real estate and peoples needs in regards to buying or selling homes than I ever did.

Boot Camp was the serious kick in the pants that I needed to make me do the things that I know I have needed to do all year. I had been waiting for the market to "recover." Now I know that I do not have time for that -- who knows when that will happen? However, there are people out these who are still buying and selling houses, and my job is to find them. Dear, Steve… We know you are half way through with Boot Camp #2 and we were just talking about how exhausted we were at this point when we were doing it. We’re still wondering how you got us to show up and sit still for six days in a row! I guess the answer is pretty obvious – we knew we needed it. Thank you for putting us through the paces.
